Plaza Jewish Community Chapel to Provide Space for Reflection, October 7

New York – Sept. 18, 2024 – Plaza Jewish Community Chapel invites all members of the New York Jewish community seeking to mark the first anniversary of October 7 to visit for quiet reflection and to light yahrzeit candles for lives lost on and since that tragic day.

“As we individually and collectively acknowledge October 7, Plaza is opening its chapel as a place for reflection and prayer for those lost — as well as for remaining hostages, the brave men and women serving in the Israeli military, and the welfare of Israel,” said Stephanie Garry, Executive Vice President of Communal Partnerships at Plaza.

“We are honored to provide space — joining others on the Jewish communal spectrum — where observances are taking place.”

Members of the community are welcome to visit Plaza Jewish Community Chapel, 630 Amsterdam Avenue in Manhattan, on Monday, October 7 from 3 pm to 7 pm.

Plaza Jewish Community Chapel is the first and only funeral chapel in New York that is owned and operated by the Jewish Community as a service rather than a business. Plaza is committed to providing our local Jewish community with exceptional outreach and service through bereavement conferences, educational programs, and community outreach.
