EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS
Plaza is pleased to offer programs in your synagogues, community centers or religious schools. Classes are
also available on site at 630 Amsterdam Ave in New York.
Available programs:

Getting your House in Order
In this program for seniors or adult children, we discuss everything one needs to know about “being prepared.”
Jewish Beliefs and Rituals for Death and Dying
Part of Plaza’s mission is to provide programming and support to those giving end-of-life care: social workers, hospice and palliative care workers.
For Rabbinical and Cantorial students
Plaza hosts students and faculty to discuss the interface of the chevra kadisha, funeral chapel, cemetery, and government agencies.
For Hebrew and Day School students
Plaza is pleased to offer a one-hour program for B’nai Mitzvah students and college-bound seniors with their parents or educators, to take the mystery out of Jewish burial.
Where’s Grandpa?
Parents of young children are taught how to begin conversations with young children about the passing of an older relative.
Outreach Resources
Plaza is pleased to offer Kaddish cards, a “Prayers and Meditations” booklet, and other information in braille or large type. Working with the Jewish Braille Institute (jbilibrary.org) is an honor. We look forward to partnering with more organizations, serving members of our community with visual or hearing disabilities.
Exploring Judaism Classes
Plaza wants you to bring your classes for a tour and chat about this “life cycle” event. With your instructor, Plaza will provide a full tour of our facility with a history about Jewish burial. We will have a Shomer available to chat with and all classes will learn about Tahara. Please know our board of directors is comprised of clergy from all denominations and part of our mission is to educate and serve the entire Jewish community.
Professional Staff Support
Tailor made programs for Synagogue staff. Plaza is honored to guide those who deal with families when a death has occurred.
Fier-McFadden Jewish Funeral Director Fellowship
This Plaza sponsored program is designed to train selected men and women to become the next generation of Jewish funeral directors. We would give thoughtful consideration to any candidate recommended by local clergy.
Chevra Kadisha.
Plaza is ready to customize a Chevra Kadisha program for your congregation.
