Since joining Plaza in 2002, Stephanie has held many roles within the
organization. In 2021, Stephanie became Executive Vice President of Communal Partnerships. Prior
to that, Stephanie was Chief Administrative Officer for six years after having served as
Director of Community Relations for 12 years.
Originally from the Midwest, Stephanie has always been involved in
the Jewish Community, even during the 25 years she was an actor, appearing in over 1500
commercials. From 1995-1997, Stephanie was President of Temple Shaaray Tefila, a Reform
congregation in Northern Westchester, and has remained a member of this temple ever since.
Stephanie has served as Community Outreach co-chair for the Westchester Chapter of The American
Jewish Committee and is a past member of the North American Advisory Board and Executive
Committee of the World Union for Progressive Judaism. For twelve years she was a member of the
North American Board of The Union for Reform Judaism, and for two years was a member of the
Oversight Committee. Stephanie is a former member of The Commission for Social Action and is
currently a member of the Board of Directors of CAJAC (Community Alliance for Jewish- Affiliated
Cemeteries). Stephanie is a member of Congregation Rodeph Sholom where she is a member of the
caring committee and a member of Temple Shaaray Tefila in New York City. Stephanie was a member
of UJA’s SYNERGY Coordinating Council for 3 years, was on the Advisory Board of ImmerseNYC, and
was a member of the National Board of Directors of the Bnai Zion Foundation. Currently she is
the President of Elluminate (formerly known as Jewish Women's Foundation of New York) and a
board member of The Hadassah Foundation. Stephanie is an associate member of the National
Association of Temple Administrators and is a long-standing member of the lay advisory board of
The New York Board of Rabbis. In addition, Stephanie is honored to be part of ReImagine 360
Advisory Council.
Stephanie is host of the newly launched podcast Exit Strategy which
received the 2023 Communicator Award for Distinction, and has been published regularly in
EJewish Philanthropy and Times of Israel.
Stephanie has been married to Art Tatge for 44 years and their son
Zach Tatge, daughter in law Briana and grandson live in New York City.
Joined the staff of Plaza Jewish Community Chapel in 2005. Darren did his residency under Edward
Yarmus at Louis Hirsch & Sons in the Bronx and then worked for Kehila Chapels in Brooklyn for
eight years. He Graduated from American Academy Mc Allister Institute in 1995 and has been licensed
for 18 years. He and his family currently reside in New Jersey.

Gregory is a graduate of Hudson Valley Community College where he obtained his degree in Mortuary
Science. He subsequently earned a BA in History from SUNY Empire State. After completing residency
in his hometown of Schenectady, NY, he became a licensed funeral director in 2000 serving the
Capital District through 2010. In 2011 Gregory relocated to New York City to serve as a funeral
director in Manhattan. Gregory joined Plaza Jewish Community Chapel in 2023.
The impetus for Gregory to serve at Plaza was multi-dimensional. He had a deep desire to combine his
passion for funeral service with working for a community based non-profit institution committed to
providing the best care and guidance following loss. In addition, he was drawn to work with the
metropolitan Jewish community in his beloved Upper West Side neighborhood.
Gregory is a member of Congregation Rodeph Sholom in Manhattan, the Jewish Funeral Directors of
America, International Cemetery, Cremation & Funeral Association, NYS Funeral Directors Association
and the National Funeral Directors Association.
Gregory resides on the Upper West Side where he enjoys the theatre, arts and culture of New York
City.
Edward joined the staff of Plaza Jewish Community Chapel in February 2001, after being associated
with Louis Hirsch & Sons for more than 33 years. He graduated summa cum laude from the American
Academy McAllister Institute of Funeral Service, New York, New York. Ed served in The United States
Air Force from 1962 to 1967 and is active with The Jewish War Veterans of the United States of
America.
Anthony Caratozzolo is a fourth generation license funeral director and is pleased to return to
Plaza Jewish Community Chapel where he serves not only as a Funeral Director but serves as Plaza's
Pre-Plan Coordinator. Anthony earned his degree in Mortuary Science at Farmingdale State University
in 1987 and also holds a B.S. in Sports Management from St. John’s University. E is very active in
community service, having volunteered as a basketball coach for local youth in his community as well
as aiding the Nassau/Suffolk Disaster Squad as they helped with the wreckage of TWA Flight 800.
Anthony is also a member of the Nassau/Suffolk Funeral Directors Association and the Knights of
Columbus. He lives in Babylon with his wife and two children.
Yevgeniy (pronounced "Eugene") was born in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, but moved to Brighton Beach with his
parents at the age of two. His family moved throughout the boroughs of New York during his formative
years, and he currently resides in New Jersey. Eugene worked as a wedding photographer for years
before becoming a funeral director. By working with families during intense and pivotal moments,
Eugene became an expert at navigating stressful situations with ease and care. He graduated with
honors from American Academy McAllister Institute in 2016, where he met his wife. They are both
licensed funeral directors who love spending time outdoors and cooking. Eugene’s quiet expertise is
invaluable to the families he helps guide through loss.
Lily was raised by New Yorkers but grew up in Philadelphia. After graduating from Goucher College
with an honors degree in anthropology, she worked closely with family bereavement centers in
Baltimore before deciding to pursue a degree in mortuary science. Lily then graduated at the top of
her class from American Academy McAllister Institute and completed her residency at a diverse firm
in Harlem. Having lived in Ecuador, Rwanda, and beyond, Lily feels at home in New York where she is
able to interact with new languages and cultures each day. She has in-depth experience working with
a cross-section of chevras kadisha throughout New York City. Her approach to end of
life care is
personal, patient, and deeply considerate.
Joshua is a native of Brooklyn New York, inspired to join the funeral service after the passing of
his mother in March of 2017. He has enrolled in the American Academy McAllister Institute to pursue
his funeral license. Joshua wishes to support those in their time of need while providing a
comfortable atmosphere of compassion, empathy and professionalism.
Rachel grew up in Boca Raton, Florida. After graduating with a BA from Syracuse University, she
moved to New York City to pursue a degree from American Academy McAllister Institute. Rachel joined
Plaza Jewish Community Chapel as a Resident Funeral Director in the Summer of 2023.
Susan Vega joined Plaza in January 2024 and serves as the
organization’s Chief Financial Officer. Susan is a graduate of Brooklyn College and a native New
Yorker. Her personal mission is to help not-for-profits thrive in the areas of compliance and to
build empathetic partnerships between management and staff in the capacity of Human Resources
administration. Susan has served various NYC based not-for-profit organizations and looks forward to
supporting Plaza’s mission of providing impactful services to families in their time of need.

Vincent is the most senior staff member of Plaza having
been with Plaza from day one. Originally From Brooklyn (Long Island College Hospital), Vincent is a
lifelong New Yorker and a proud father of Elijah, Ashanti and Amina.
Aside from attending to all aspects of Plaza’s physical plant, Vincent has special interests in
gardening (which he attributes to his mother) cooking and bicycle riding. Our curb appeal is a
tribute to him!
