Additional Information:

Noted author, silver scholar, teacher, entrepreneur, and antique dealer Janet
Drucker passed away after a short illness.

In the 1960’s She studied art under Ad Reinhadt, Leo Rabkin earning a BA & MA from Brooklyn College,
dreaming of being an artist but taught art instead. Janet’s life was driven by a passionate love for the Arts. As a teacher she taught for 28 years in the New York City Public Schools.

As a camp director’s wife, she taught compassion and tolerance to inner city children that Janet & Byrd took to the country for summer camp. Over the years she heard many former campers and staff share with her that those were the best times of their childhood.

Janet built an impressive family business with her husband and taught her son Bill the nuances of the business that continues today.

A self-taught silver scholar, and world renown expert in Georg Jensen. Janet wrote the definitive work on Jensen and the silversmiths that worked with his world-renown silver company. Georg Jensen A Tradition Of Splendid Silver published in 1997, had a worldwide impact on the market for Georg Jensen Silver. She was bestowed the honorary title & nickname “The Jensen Lady”. She loved sharing her passion for Jensen Silver with others. Personally, she was so proud of the second edition and her opportunity to feature it on the Martha Stewart Show.

Janet shared her knowledge of American and Danish Silver with many. Always delighted in its elegance and functionality. She was a major force in educating people on Jensen, always recognizable for her fashionably chic eyewear. She consulted with collectors and museums on exhibitions and was a tremendous resource for Twentieth Century Danish Design Jewelry.
