For this week’s ‘Words for Wednesday’ the featured book is ‘Her Again: Becoming Meryl Streep‘, by Michael Schulman, published by HarperCollins. Booklist said “Schulman’s balanced portrait of Streep’s unwavering dedication and demanding work ethic makes this a must-read for fans and aspiring actors.”
In addition to bringing attention and praise to Michael Shulman’s new book, a few other connections were made, as you will read below.
Since 2006 Michael Schulman has been a contributor to The New Yorker. Back in February he wrote an article titled ‘Watching‘, a story about Plaza’s Shomer, now movie star, who received an Academy award for his lead role in the movie: ‘Son of Saul.’
Also, as today is Holocaust Remembrance Day, it is worth noting that Meryl Streep won her first Emmy award for outstanding Lead Actress in a Limited Series called: ‘Holocaust‘, and her first Academy award for best actress came in her role in ‘Sophie’s Choice.’
